Established in 2001, founder and principal therapist Sharon Elias specialises in customising Yoga classes & Yoga Therapy programs for individuals and small groups.
Considering your level of experience, physical ability or state of health, Sharon can design and teach you Yoga practices that are individualised to your specific needs, simple and accessible – meeting you where you are at and gently encourage you forward to where you would like to be.
Centred Self Yoga is based in the eastern suburbs of Sydney and offers the following services at your home, workplace, or other venues as required. One-to-One sessions online via Zoom are also offered where required.
Sharon Elias
Sharon is an internationally Certified Yoga Therapist, in addition to being a registered Senior Yoga Teacher with Yoga Australia.
She has completed over 1,300+ hours of training and education in all aspects of Yoga, and has more than 20 years of experience in teaching and helping people towards improved health and wellbeing through the practice of Yoga.
Centred Self Yoga came into being in 2001, when Sharon began teaching group Yoga classes in diverse environments including corporate, health and community centres– which later branched out into private individual tuition, and one-to-one Yoga Therapy consultations.
In regards to Yoga Therapy, Sharon’s specific areas of experience currently include anxiety, depression, stress related disorders, chronic pain, lower back pain, frozen shoulder, knee rehabilitation, arthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and breast cancer……

Yoga for Stress Management has been running in the Centre for about 6 months, and it’s proving to be a valuable group that the Centre hopes to continue with. Participants have reported a definite benefit from the good mix of instruction and practice and the individual care shown within the group structure. The Yoga for Stress Management group is turning out to be a good compliment to counselling and I am happy to recommend it and a big thanks to Sharon, who’s both skilful and committed.
Sharon has been my yoga teacher for the past 3 years. She has been a friendly, engaging teacher who can cater her lessons to fit individual needs. I have noticed an improvement in my core strength and in my ability to deal with stress since starting yoga with her. The best aspects of Sharon’s teaching are her personal approach, the variety in her classes and deep knowledge of the yoga postures and breathing techniques. Yoga provided a complete energy boost, helped us to release tensions, left us with a delightful sense of well being and total awareness of our body, as well as a sense of peace to help us face a hectic day at work.
