We are a boutique Yoga centre in Kensington, catering to individuals and small groups seeking to practice Yoga for optimal health and wellbeing.

Centred Self Yoga offer a wide range of options to meet the varied needs of our diverse community – small group Yoga Classes, Private One-to-One Yoga Classes and Yoga Therapy for Individuals and Small Groups.

Centred Self Yoga is committed to making the benefits of Yoga accessible to everyone – whether you are an absolute beginner or have been practicing for years, fit and able or inflexible with limitations, or impacted by a health condition – Centred Self Yoga will meet you where you are at and gently encourage you forward to where you would like to be.

Sharon is an internationally Certified Yoga Therapist (acquired over 3 years with YogaVahini in Chennai, India), in addition to being a registered Senior Yoga Teacher with Yoga Australia and the International Yoga Teachers Association. She has completed over 1,300+ hours of training and education in all aspects of Yoga, and more than 17 years of experience in teaching and helping people towards improved health and wellbeing through the practice of Yoga - this wonderful ancient science for “living life well”.

She is highly experienced in the “Viniyoga” approach of teaching - where each person is recognised as unique individual and the Yoga adapted to suit the individual's needs and abilities - rather than the individual to fit the Yoga.

Sharon is committed to making the practice and benefits of Yoga available to all individuals - regardless of age, state of health, ability and special needs.

Centred Self Yoga came into being in 2002 when Sharon began teaching Yoga in diverse environments including corporate, health and community services - plus private individual tuition, and one-to-one Yoga Therapy consultations.

She has been heavily influenced by her teachers past and present - including Saraswati Vasudevan of YogaVahini in India and Barbara Brian of Agama Yoga Centre in Melbourne - who have been a guiding light and inspiration to Sharon as both long term students and teachers in the Tradition of Krishnamacharya through their own long standing relationships with their teacher TKV Desikachar.

Sharon has a special interest in teaching Yoga to promote positive mental health - as she believes this is the foundation of our overall health and wellbeing.
